Ant Bait

What Is Ant Bait?

Ant bait is an attractant based ant elimination method. It works by attracting worker ants to feed upon and carry the bait back to the queen. Through injestion of the ant bait, the queen and other ants will be killed leading to the destruction of the colony. This works great for many different kinds of ants including pharaoh and carpenter ants.

Why Use Ant Bait?

There are several benefits to using bait including safety, palatability, aesthetic and simply that bait works at eliminating ants. We suggest using the multi-baiter in combination with the Greenway Ant Bait because keeping baits in a safe and secure station instead of out in the open keeps them away from children and pets. This just makes more sense for both professionals and homeowners. Target pests such as ants have easy access to the bait through precut entry points on the top of the station. Stations should always be placed out of the reach of children, people and pets.

Another benefit is that baits are palatable. Baits that stay fresher, longer, work better. That’s why we recommend the Greenway Ant Bait. It lasts longer than its competitors and stays fresh, promoting faster elimination.  When baits stay out in the open, sunlight, water, oxygen, and heat all have negative effects on the bait eventually rendering it inedible and unpalatable. By placing the bait inside a multi-baiter, it limits water, air and sunlight for affecting the bait.

Aesthetically, ants and ant baits are unsightly and should be hidden away where target insects have access but people pets or guests do not. Because baits are an attractant,

you do not want to be attracting pests out in the open. Whether you are treating a home or a professional environment, you want to place bait in a

discrete location, getting a balance between concealing it from public view but making it accessible to the pests, in this case ants.

Where To Buy Ant Bait

Ant bait can be purchased through the paypal links found below or directly from our store in Scarborough at 931 Progress Ave Unit #12.

Greenway Ant Bait

NO MESS, NO ANTS

It is approved for domestic use which means you as a homeowner can purchase it. It can be used both inside and outside to treat a variety of different types of ants. This includes pharaoh, carpenter and fire ants.  It is an Insecticide paste that is a bait type product. Bait is a food attractant, this one is a honeydew formula, specially designed to attract ants. Ants will pick up the bait and take it back to their nests which will feed the colony and the queen. The most important thing to remember with ant treatments is that if you kill the queen, you kill the colony. This product works slowly and sufficient bait should be made available for continuous feeding. The ants will return to their nest after consuming the bait and will feed their young and the queen which will DESTROY the colony. And that’s what we want

You will want to repeat the bait treatment after 2 weeks or when bait is gone (if that happens earlier). This will provide fresh and continuous bait for feeding which will promote the fastest elimination of your ant infestations. Bait treatments can take 6-8 weeks for complete elimination. When used with other ant elimination products it that time can be shorter.

Greenway Ant Bait is available in both individual 42.5g syringes and in boxes of 6. The active ingredients is Borin.

It is also available in our ant elimination package. This package contains a combination of ant bait, ant spray and ant dust for an integrated pest management approach.

HOW TO APPLY ANT BAIT

Greenway ant bait gel is applied with the syringe. Place the plunger (included) in the back of the syringe. Place you index and middle finger on the wings of the barrel and your thumb on the back of the plunger. Remove cap . Gently push plunger to eject gel. Inject gel into multibaiters. This product can also be used in cracks and crevices around windows and doors on both the interior and exterior. Use along baseboards, and voided areas where the bait is protected from exposure and inaccessible to children and pets. Make small pea-sized into cracks and crevices here ants are present. Each syringe will cover about 8 m.

Additionally the bait should be place in multibaiters and placed in kitchens, bathrooms and basements. Areas should include behind refrigerators and stoves and under

sinks, as well as in cabinets. Do not use sprays, foggers or any chemicals or cleaners near the bait containers or placement as this might contaminate the bait and stop the ants from eating it. The best method if using a combination method is to spray first and allow the spray to dry. Then place bait containers down in areas.  For indoor use, place bait stations 1.5 – 3 meters apart where ants are prevalent. Replace the bait as needed or ever 2 weeks. Place stations under food cabinets, sinks, stoves, refrigerators, food storage areas, attics, garages, basements, and even in closets.

For outdoor use. place bait stations 1.5 -3 meters apart where ants enter the dwellings. Place on the exterior windows sills, window frames and doorways to prevent entry of ants. For best results place in shaded areas or create shade for the bait station. Avoid placing them in direct sunlight. There are two reasons. Firstly, it makes the bait more attractive to the ants as they like dark areas. Secondly, the sunlight can degrade the bait faster so that bait lasts longer in darker areas.
